Długotrwałe stosowanie KORTYKOSTEROIDÓW może prowadzić do tyłu podtorebkowy zaćmy i zwiększenia ciśnienia wewnątrzgałkowego, z których ostatni może prowadzić do jaskry i/lub uszkodzenie nerwu wzrokowego. Terapia z zastosowaniem wziewne i donosowe kortykosteroidy zidentyfikowane tylko w bardzo rzadkich przypadkach produkują te efekty, ale należy wprowadzać ostrożnie, jednak u pacjentów z zaćmą, jaskrą lub podwyższone ciśnienie wewnątrzgałkowe. Chociaż działania niepożądane kortykosteroidów mogą być zminimalizowane poprzez lokalnego, a nie administracyjnych, ryzyko nie zostały całkowicie zniesione. Oddychać i nosowo stosuje się lek może być wchłaniany, zwłaszcza, gdy stosowane są duże dawki. Ważne jest, że zalecane dawki poszczególnych produktów nie powinna być przekroczona i że niskie dawki skuteczne używany.
